Accused Killer In Calorie Beef

Down 105 pounds, obese inmate sues jailers for “lack of nutrition”

This purported “lack of nutrition” over the past eight months, Laswell claims, is reflected in minuscule biscuits and cake sizes, the small amount of chips accompanying sandwiches, and the occasional provision of “2 small cookies.” And just in case anyone thought he was only concerned about junk food, the accused killer also complains about the “drizzle of dressing” placed on his “small side of lettuce.” The lethargic Laswell claims that “on several occasions” he has “started to do some excersizing and my vision went blurry and I felt like I was going to pass out.”
Laswell and an accomplice were arrested last year for allegedly beating and stabbing a man to death (and then setting the victim’s home on fire).

Stories like this amaze me. We are a tolerant society that will let this type of complaint be heard. Murderers (accused) think they have rights to complain about how much food is being served to them. Especially one who was obese to begin with and would like to maintain the habits that made him into what he has become. I hope this gets as little attention in the courts as it deserves and the victims family gets justice.
