Fears of lawlessness grow amid chaos in Haiti

Let me start by saying that my thoughts and prayers go out to all those in Haiti that are suffering through this disaster. No matter what the situation was before this event, basic human compassion tells us that help is needed here and quick.

Which brings me to my point. Where is the help? According to the latest reports, things are getting worse by the minute.

The earthquake happened over 72 hours ago, but the promised help is either not there or sitting on the tarmac at the airport. Was not President Bush criticized for this same slow response. So far, President Obama has been saying that we would be there to help, but words are not actions. The media is all there to see what is going on, but not holding this President to the same standard. Why is this?

I will let you come to your own conclusions. For anyone who has read from this site for a while, I have pointed out how the media is anything but impartial. The bottom line here is that people are suffering and need help now. You would think this great country of ours could deliver on our promise and deliver. Making excuses will not save lives. Are the roads and port a mess? You bet, but real leadership would find a way. Remember that when you start hearing more excuses in the coming days.
